Artie Fest summer festival

2025 event

**Press Release**
**Artie Fest Announces Renewed Focus; Pausing 2025 Event**

Martinsville, Indiana – As Artie Fest moves forward into an exciting new chapter, the organization is thrilled to announce its renewed focus on celebrating its original purpose: an alumni weekend that unites Artesians, honors local heritage, and strengthens meaningful connections within the Martinsville community. This shift represents a heartfelt return to its roots while continuing to champion its mission of supporting education and fostering community pride.

After much thoughtful consideration, Artie Fest has decided to take a break from hosting its 2025 festival. Challenges such as ongoing courthouse construction, which will prevent the use of the property for several years, and the growing number of summer events and activities in the community have made it difficult to sustain a full weekend event. However, this pause brings with it the opportunity to reimagine and strengthen Artie Fest’s impact in fresh and meaningful ways.

Artie Fest’s legacy is one of purpose and generosity. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, it has celebrated remarkable achievements, including:
  • Awarding over $20,000 in scholarships to public, private, and home-school students.
  • Contributing nearly $15,000 to other local nonprofits and community organizations.
  • Launching the Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL) in 2023 to enhance literacy by providing free books to children ages 0-5.

The Imagination Library’s overwhelming success led to a partnership with another local nonprofit, culminating in the transition of DPIL program management to the Morgan County Public Library Foundation in October 2024.

Representatives of Artie Fest shared, “Though we’re stepping back from hosting a festival in 2025, we are filled with excitement for what’s to come. By returning to our roots as an alumni weekend, we are reigniting the spirit of Artesian pride that has always been at the heart of Artie Fest. We look forward to bringing people together in meaningful ways and continuing to make a difference in the lives of Martinsville families.”

Community members are encouraged to stay connected with Artie Fest and celebrate its mission of education and community impact as the organization embarks on this inspiring new path.

**About Artie Fest**
Since 2009, Artie Fest has been dedicated to supporting education, literacy, and community pride in Martinsville while fostering connections through alumni and community events. What started as an all-class reunion grew into a family friendly summer festival centered around our Artesian roots. We want all students to feel the pride of what it means to be an Artesian while going out and making a difference in the world. Our commitment to education drives every initiative we undertake, and we believe that together, we can create a lasting impact for generations to come.
